9月11日 30 Years AgoI became a Vegatarian in 1976. I was 23 years old, I wasn’t a proponent of animal rights, I just believed vegetarianism to be a healthy lifestyle. The habit stuck, and I went thirty years without even eating animals, not even a sardine. I am now 54. I have had some health problems recently (not quite ready to discuss) and I’ve decided I need to change my lifestyle again. One of the first things my doctor told me to do was to get more proteins and amino acids in my diet. I wasn’t getting nearly enough omega 3’s. Omega 3’s are the healthy amino acids found almost everywhere…..in fish. So, two months ago, for the first time in over thirty years, I ate fish. I can’t say that it was an awakening of my pallet, an explosion of new taste, but I wasn’t disgusted by it either. And now, I am no longer a vegetarian. I am working my way into the carnivorous world slowly. I’ve been eating sea foods mainly, though I did eat chicken Florentine a week ago. I still haven’t worked my way up to cow, but it’s on the list. This blog is my journal of my new life as a non-vegetarian. |
